There are no traffic lights, no freeways, nor highways nearby, so the main means of transportation are golf carts. Victoria House has a beautiful oceanfront location and a sandy beach, but the waterfront is overgrown with sea grass (like most of the island’s beaches) that make for a slimy swim.

The airstrip is also located close to town, so there’s always a buzz of activity gently rolling through the streets. Otherwise, all bathrooms come with Mayan Honey Bee shampoo, conditioner, lotion, bar soap and we loved the small-batch oatmeal bar soap.
Nearby San Pedro (two miles away) offers quite the restaurant scene. Eateries range from high-end epicurean palaces to little bistros seating a handful of guests, but you might be surprised to learn that many Victoria House guests have no intention of leaving the resort for meals. The Packages is known for its diverse menu and culinary excellence. Indulge in fresh conch ceviche, beef tenderloin, grouper in a cashew crust, grilled lobster and fresh fruits and veggies.
